Conference Details
After the plenary session on Tuesday morning (May 5th), there will be five tracks of sessions, conducted Tuesday afternoon and all day Wednesday and Thursday (May 6th and 7th). Presentations will be 15 minutes long plus 5 minutes for Q & A and speaker changes. The conference will take place in a fully “in-person format”. Therefore, all presenters will need to be in person at UC Davis to participate. Some sessions have already been proposed and accepted, and you may have already been solicited to participate by a session organizer. If so, you will still need to submit an abstract. If not, do not worry, as we will review all abstracts and accept the ones that best meet the spirit of the conference, adding additional session topics as needed.
Your Responsibilities
All potential presenters must submit an abstract and register for the conference. We will provide on-site support for all presentations. However, the conference is not able to provide any travel or accommodation assistance, registration subsidies or waivers, or any other forms of support.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
All proposals must be submitted online, using this link, by midnight U.S. Pacific Standard Time on January 31, 2026.
All abstracts must be submitted in English.
In the spirit of fairness and because of the large number of abstracts that the Organizing Committee will have to review, we ask that you submit a maximum of two abstracts per person. If the Organizing Committee receives more abstracts than timeslots available, those with two submissions may lose one of them.
Please note that the Organizing Committee may schedule your presentation for any time during the conference and may or may not be able to accept special scheduling requests. If you are part of a proposed session, please let your session organizer know if you have any scheduling conflicts.
Abstract Proposal Format
All of the following information must be provided on the submission form.
● Primary author name, email address, and affiliation.
● Co-authors names, affiliations, and email addresses

● Brief description of how your presentation or poster fits with the themes or main topics of the conference (100 words or less)
● Key words
● Total number of abstracts that you will be submitting
● Identification of session that you have been solicited to present in (if applicable)
Evaluation Criteria and Process
Presentation or poster proposals will be evaluated based on how well they meet the following criteria:
● Clear relevance to the field of fish passage
● Broad applicability in the field of fish passage
● How well the presentation or poster fits the themes of the conference: restoration, revitalization, remediation, and reintroduction
● New fish passage projects or research - innovation, novel perspectives, or cutting-edge developments
● Tribal engagement and involvement

● Submission of a well thought out and interesting abstract
Please consider the criteria above when composing your abstract.
